How do RMA search results work?

We've updated and optimized our search results and search filter functions so users looking for a realtor can find what they want better and more accurately. This means we've added more filtering options!

Here is a comprehensive guide to our filters and how they affect search results:

We have three buttons that can be used to filter based on different criteria. The "Trending", "Top reviewed locally", and "Top Reviewed" filters show directly under the search bar on location pages.

What does filtering by "Top Reviewed" mean?

"Top Reviewed" is our default search result. Very simply, it means that the profile with the most reviews associated to it will show at the top of the search result.

Here's what this means:

  • The more reviews they have the higher up the list they will show.
  • Only agents that have received a review within a given city or location will show on this page. Or if agents have tagged on their own accounts that they are working within a location (i.e. are licensed and/or have a brokerage location within the city/location or geo-farming that area)
  •  Please note, if you are geo-farming an area but don't have any reviews yet for that area a message will display in the search results with " [Name of professional] hasn't received any reviews for [geo-farming area] yet. Be the first one to do so."

What does filtering by "Trending" mean?

If you click the "Trending" button, our interface will begin to add conditions to the search results. This filter helps users find the top, most recently active agentsOnly agents that have an overall ranking of over 4.6 in the past three months will show up on this page.

Here's what this means:

  • The agent's profile must have received at least one review within the last three months to show up under the "Trending" filter.
  • The more reviews received within the last three months, the higher up the "Trending" list the profile will go.
  • The interface will also sort depending on overall score. The higher your overall score (i.e. the green number out of five in the top right hand corner of your profile square) from the last three months of reviews is the higher up the trending list your profile will go. *note: the score will be recalculated for the "Trending" list to only calculate for reviews from the last three months - your overall score of all time will be different.

What does filtering by "Top Reviewed Locally" mean?

If you click the "Top Reviewed Locally" button, our interface will add different conditions to search results to help users find the top active agents for a specific location

Here's what this means:

  • The agent/profile with the last review within the location will show first. (As you may know, we verify each of our reviews based on real locations of property transactions. This data is never shared but it is used to bring you this search result.)
  • Only agents that have had a confirmed review within a certain area will show under this filter. (Agents that list a location on their profile but do not receive a review within that location will not show under the "Top Reviewed Locally" filter, but will show under "Top Reviewed".)
  • If no reviews exist locally, the results of all total reviews will then display at the top.
  • Sometimes, neighbourhoods are not included in the address your reviewer will supply, to be top reviewed locally in a neighbourhood or to simply add a location tag to your review check out this FAQ on how you can add locations to your reviews. The more location tags you add to your reviews the more "Top Reviewed Locally" pages you will show up on, making it easier for potential clients to find you based on the areas you work in.
